PAW OK Dog Park

History

Since our opening to the public in November 2003, PAW OK Dog Park has been operated and funded by Partners for Animal Welfare of Oklahoma, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation.  

To make this happen, a small group of citizens promised The City of Oklahoma City (specifically the City Council) to build, maintain, and oversee a dog park.  So, the Partners for Animal Welfare of Oklahoma, Inc. (PAW OK), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, was created.

Over time, our donations significantly dropped.  This may have partly been due to the public believing we were a city operated/funded dog park, like others that were later developed in the Oklahoma City metro.

So on July 1, 2019, we made the difficult decision to require a membership.  Memberships with regular donations are allowing for a safer, healthier, and better maintained park, with much needed continual improvements being made.
